Disease results in misery, pain, and poverty for millions of people worldwide. That’s why treating and preventing disease is so important to us. We lead efforts both large and small. We set up temporary clinics, blood donation centers, and training facilities in underserved communities struggling with outbreaks and health care access. We design and build infrastructure that allows doctors, patients, and governments to work together.

Rotary makes amazing things happen, like:

Providing clean water: Rotary has worked with partners to provide more than 80 percent of Ghana’s people with clean water to fight Guinea worm disease.

Reducing HIV infection: In Liberia, Rotary members are helping women get tested for HIV early in their pregnancies. They used prenatal care to reduce new HIV infections in children by 95 percent over two years.

Ending polio: Rotary members have played a key role in bringing the world to the brink of polio eradication. Their efforts have not only ended polio in 122 countries but also created a system for tackling myriad other health priorities, such as Ebola.

Foundation Seminar November 26th 2022

November is The Rotary Foundation (TRF) month and I’m proud to announce our very first Virtual Rotary Foundation Seminar was held on 26 November 2022. Our District achieved a record high attendance with over 400 Rotarians registered.

This year, our theme is “Doing Good in the World”.

Our seminar was mainly divided into two sections:
1) Sharing by Key Dignitaries,
2) Fundraising and Donor Recognition.

With the honor of the presence of RRFC PDG ENT Chen as our keynote speaker, he shared with us an update on overall contribution of TRF globally and within Zone 9.

We also had a pleasant surprise from PRIP Gary Huang from Taiwan who also joined us virtually and shared his words of encouragement and support.

We also had the privilege to invite another overseas guest from Singapore, The Philanthropy Advisor, Miss Hazel Seow who shared with us the Solicitation Strategies in raising funds.

TRF Seminar ended with another highlight of donor recognition with 8 new Major Donors (Level 1 – 3) and our gratitude to the AKS members having PDG ENT to witness the session.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Rotary Foundation Seminar Organization Committee Chair, PP Susan Chan.

Special thanks to all DRFC members’ support and PP Thomas Chan who led his team in achieving great success.

For every Green tailored suit, 100% of the sales amount was donated to Rotary Foundation.
