After the assessment for any elderly people needing pressure-relief items like tailor-made cushions and / or mattresses but having the financial difficulties, Rotary Club of Peninsula South will donate these items to the elderly people in need. Together with the assessment and equipment, the objective of disease treatment and disease prevention can be achieved. Since there will be two parts to the activity: “Work”, which is the multi-gym exercise, and “Life”, which is getting them to live comfortably with the help of the physical pressure-relief system using pressure mapping unit for assessment, whereas providing them with pressure-relief sitting cushions/ bed mattresses accordingly. Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong Chai Wan Neighbourhood Elderly Centre will provide a training programme to all the health care staff, as well as the care workers and nurses, on how to manipulate and control the equipment to help 200 elderly people carry out the exercise and assessments and donate 40 sets of pressure-relief sitting cushion / bed mattress to the elderly people.
