Project Description<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Children in Hong Kong’s underprivileged community are often locked out of opportunities because of their economic background, lack of resources and lack of experience with technology.
The project enhanced the existing Interactive Cyber Zone at PLK CHYDC by expanding from 10 computers to a total of 20 computers with additional robotic hardware and relevant software. The Interactive Cyber Zone was made available to about 10,000 users annually within the community. Moreover, a series of STEM Education teaching sessions had also been held at the Cyber Zone. With STEM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) as a global trend in teaching framework, it helps cultivating students\u2019 interest in learning, enhancing their capacity to innovate and developing their creativity and problem-solving skills. To ensure sustainability and adoption of STEM Education by teachers within the classroom environment, a series of teaching sessions had been conducted for promotion, training and showcasing practical examples to teachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
