Dear fellow Rotarians and Rotaractors,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

September is a busy month in the District as we kick off DG Visits and a range of District activities. Unfortunately, I was confirmed COVID on the first day of September and had to isolate at home for 10 days. Thanks to technology, I could still carry out my duty through online meetings. More unfortunate was my mother\u2019s critical medical conditions that required me to go on an urgent trip to Boston, USA. My mother passed away on September 11th<\/sup> and I stayed with my family during the mourning period for two weeks. I am grateful to be back to Hong Kong on September 27th<\/sup> without the need for hotel quarantine and able to get back to District activities right after I landed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the trip, I took the opportunity to visit Rotary Club of Cambridge. Rotary Club of Cambridge is a well-established club which is celebrating its 100th Anniversary next year. Two of the current members were indeed Rotarians in our District – President Yolanda Li who was a Rotarian of Rotary Club of Peninsula Sunrise and a Group Study Exchange participant to Brazil in Rotary Year 2009-2010, and Rotarian York Lo who was a member of HK South.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9\u6708\u4efd\u662f\u5730\u5340\u5fd9\u788c\u7684\u4e00\u500b\u6708\u4efd: \u5730\u5340\u7e3d\u76e3\u63a2\u8a2a\u555f\u52d5\u4e86, \u540c\u6642\u5730\u5340\u8a31\u591a\u7684\u6d3b\u52d5\u4e5f\u958b\u5c55\u4e86\u3002 \u6211\u537b\u57289\u67081\u65e5\u78ba\u8a3a\u65b0\u51a0\u80ba\u708e\u800c\u5fc5\u9808\u7559\u5bb6\u9694\u96e2\u3002\u5e78\u597d\u79d1\u6280\u8b93\u6211\u53ef\u4ee5\u5728\u9694\u96e2\u7684\u65e5\u5b50\u88e1\u4ecd\u7136\u8207\u5730\u5340\u5718\u968a\u548c\u5404\u6276\u8f2a\u793e\u7e7c\u7e8c\u958b\u6703\u3002\u7531\u65bc\u6211\u5728\u7f8e\u570b\u6ce2\u58eb\u9813\u7684\u6bcd\u89aa\u75c5\u91cd, \u9694\u96e2\u5b8c\u7562\u5f8c\u6211\u7acb\u523b\u52d5\u8eab\u5230\u7f8e\u570b, \u53ef\u60dc\u5979\u65bc9\u670811\u65e5\u8207\u4e16\u9577\u8fad\u3002\u6211\u7559\u5728\u7f8e\u570b\u5169\u9031\u8207\u5bb6\u4eba\u60bc\u5ff5\u6211\u7684\u6bcd\u89aa , \u4e4b\u5f8c\u57289\u670827\u65e5\u8fd4\u6e2f\u3002\u8fd4\u6e2f\u6642\u9152\u5e97\u9694\u96e2\u7684\u653f\u7b56\u5df2\u7d93\u64a4\u92b7, \u56e0\u6b64\u6211\u80fd\u5920\u7acb\u523b\u6295\u5165\u5730\u5340\u7684\u5de5\u4f5c\u4e2d\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u6211\u9017\u7559\u7f8e\u570b\u7684\u671f\u9593\u63a2\u8a2a\u4e86\u6b77\u53f2\u60a0\u4e45\u7684Rotary Club of Cambridge, \u660e\u5e74\u4ed6\u5011\u5c07\u6176\u795d100\u9031\u5e74\u3002\u793e\u54e1\u7576\u4e2d\u6709\u5169\u4f4d\u66fe\u7d93\u662f\u6211\u5011\u5730\u5340\u7684\u793e\u54e1: President Yolanda Li \u66fe\u662f\u6276\u8f2a\u5e74\u5ea62009-2010 \u5230\u5df4\u897f\u7684Group Study Exchange \u6210\u54e1, \u4e5f\u662fRotary Club of Peninsula Sunrise \u7684\u524d\u793e\u53cb; \u800cRotarian York Lo\u5247\u662fRotary Club of Hong Kong South \u7684\u524d\u793e\u53cb\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Boston, I went on to visit my daughter in Tucson Arizona where I had my first physical encounter with one of my DG classmates, DG Anita McDonald of District 5500. I also attended their District Conference and many Rotarians and Rotaractors of District 5500, among which RI President Personal Representative Rotaractor Jeris Gaston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u6b64\u7a0b\u6211\u4e5f\u53bb\u4e86\u4e9e\u5229\u6851\u90a3\u5dde\u7684\u5716\u68ee (Tucson) \u53bb\u63a2\u671b\u6211\u7684\u5973\u5152\u3002\u5728\u90a3\u88e1\u6211\u7d42\u65bc\u7b2c\u4e00\u6b21\u8207\u6211\u7684\u540c\u5c46DG\u898b\u9762 \u2013 \u9019\u662f5500\u5730\u5340\u7684DG Anita McDonald\u3002\u6211\u66f4\u6709\u5e78\u53c3\u52a0\u4e86\u4ed6\u5011\u7684\u5730\u5340\u5e74\u6703, \u4e26\u8a8d\u8b58\u4e86\u591a\u540d\u6276\u8f2a\u793e\u53cb\u53ca\u6276\u9752\u793e\u53cb, \u4eca\u5e74\u7684RI President Personal Representative Rotaractor Jeris Gaston \u5c31\u662f\u4e00\u540d\u6276\u9752\u793e\u53cb\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back in our District, there are a number of exciting developments. Firstly, I am glad to report that VRE is in full force. A number of clubs are engaging the sister clubs to start a VRE program and they are committed to recruiting qualified youths to join the program. Secondly, we have quickly created the Hong Kong Student Service Ambassador Award Program with the support of three Government Bureaus and many organizations. I believe that this will be a significant District project this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I shall resume physical visits to Rotary Clubs in our District next month. I am looking forward to meeting Rotarians in our District and learn more about what each club has in plan. See you very soon!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u6211\u5011\u7684\u5730\u5340\u5728\u9019\u500b\u6276\u8f2a\u5e74\u5ea6\u958b\u5c55\u4e86\u77ed\u77ed\u5e7e\u500b\u6708\u5f8c, \u5c31\u5728\u5e7e\u500b\u65b9\u9762\u53d6\u5f97\u4e86\u5f88\u5927\u767c\u5c55\u3002\u9996\u5148\u662fVRE (Virtual Rotary Exchange) , \u5730\u5340\u5167\u6709\u591a\u500b\u6276\u8f2a\u793e\u5df2\u7d93\u8207\u6211\u5011\u7684\u59ca\u59b9\u793e\u53d6\u5f97\u5171\u8b58\u958b\u5c55VRE \u9805\u76ee, \u62db\u52df\u6709\u5fd7\u9752\u5e74\u53c3\u52a0\u3002\u5176\u6b21\u662f\u5730\u5340\u7684\u65b0\u9805\u76ee: \u9999\u6e2f\u5091\u51fa\u5b78\u751f\u670d\u52d9\u5927\u4f7f\u734e\u52f5\u8a08\u5283 \u3002\u6b64\u8a08\u5283\u5f97\u5230\u793e\u6703\u7684\u5ee3\u6cdb\u8a8d\u540c, \u7372\u5f97\u4e09\u500b\u653f\u5e9c\u90e8\u9580\u53ca\u591a\u500b\u6a5f\u69cb\u9f0e\u529b\u652f\u6301, \u5c07\u6703\u662f\u6211\u5011\u9019\u500b\u5e74\u5ea6\u7684\u4e00\u500b\u91cd\u8981\u9805\u76ee\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u572810\u6708\u4efd, \u6211\u5c07\u91cd\u65b0\u6295\u5165\u5730\u5340\u5de5\u4f5c, \u4e5f\u6703\u89aa\u8eab\u63a2\u8a2a\u5730\u5340\u7684\u6276\u8f2a\u793e, \u80fd\u5920\u8207\u793e\u53cb\u4ea4\u6d41, \u4e26\u4e86\u89e3\u5404\u793e\u4eca\u5e74\u7684\u8a08\u5283\u662f\u6211\u6240\u671f\u5f85\u7684!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
