\u570b\u969b\u6276\u8f2a3450\u5730\u5340\u8207\u9999\u6e2f\u674e\u5bf6\u693f\u806f\u5408\u4e16\u754c\u66f8\u9662\u5408\u8fa6\u4ee5\u591a\u5143\u3001\u5e73\u7b49\u8207\u5305\u5bb9<\/a>(DEI)\u70ba\u4e3b\u984c\u7684\u548c\u5e73\u71df\u6703\u8207\u9752\u5c11\u5e74\u4e00\u8d77\u63a8\u52d5\u548c\u5e73\u53cb\u611b<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Peace Camp is a youth event jointly organised by Rotary International District 3450 Peace Committee and Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong (LPCUWC). The theme of Peace Camp this year is Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)<\/strong>. Into the third year of this collaboration, Peace Camp was held face-to-face for the first time on 1 & 2 April 2023 on the LPCUWC campus. It was a long-anticipated celebration of a shared commitment to promoting peace, furthering youth education and serving the community. We were privileged to kick off the event with our guests of honour: <\/a>Mr. Bolor Tsenguun, Acting Consul General of Mongolia; Mr. Asim Malik, Deputy Consul General of Pakistan; and Mr. Yoganthiran Manikam, Vice Consul (Tourism) Consulate General of Malaysia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u548c\u5e73\u71df\u6703\u662f\u7531\u570b\u969b\u6276\u8f2a\u793e3450\u5730\u5340\u548c\u5e73\u59d4\u54e1\u6703\u8207\u9999\u6e2f\u674e\u5bf6\u693f\u806f\u5408\u4e16\u754c\u66f8\u9662\uff08LPCUWC\uff09\u806f\u5408\u8209\u8fa6\u7684\u9752\u5c11\u5e74\u6d3b\u52d5\u3002\u4eca\u5e74\u548c\u5e73\u71df\u6703\u65bc 2023 \u5e74 4 \u6708 1 \u65e5\u53ca 2 \u65e5\u5728 LPCUWC \u6821\u5712\u8209\u884c\uff0c\u4e3b\u984c\u662f\u591a\u5143\u3001\u5e73\u7b49\u8207\u5305\u5bb9(DEI)\uff0c\u662f\u96d9\u65b9\u5408\u4f5c\u4e09\u5e74\u4ee5\u4f86\u9996\u500b\u5be6\u9ad4\u8209\u884c\u7684\u548c\u5e73\u71df\u6703\u3002\u9019\u662f\u4e00\u5834\u5927\u5bb6\u671f\u5f85\u5df2\u4e45\u7684\u6d3b\u52d5\uff0c\u9ad4\u73fe\u4e86\u6211\u5011\u5c0d\u4fc3\u9032\u548c\u5e73\u3001\u9752\u5e74\u6559\u80b2\u548c\u670d\u52d9\u793e\u5340\u7684\u5171\u540c\u627f\u8afe\u3002\u548c\u5e73\u71df\u6703\u4ee5\u958b\u5e55\u5178\u79ae\u62c9\u958b\u5e8f\u5e55\uff0c\u4e26\u69ae\u7372\u8499\u53e4\u4ee3\u7406\u7e3d\u9818\u4e8bBolor Tsenguun\u5148\u751f\u3001\u5df4\u57fa\u65af\u5766\u526f\u7e3d\u9818\u4e8bAsim Malik\u5148\u751f\u548c\u99ac\u4f86\u897f\u4e9e\u7e3d\u9818\u4e8b\u9928\u526f\u9818\u4e8b\uff08\u65c5\u904a\uff09Yoganthiran Manikam\u5148\u751f\u64d4\u4efb\u5609\u8cd3\u51fa\u5e2d\u5178\u79ae\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2023\u5e74\u5ea6\u548c\u5e73\u71df\u6703\u958b\u5e55\u5178\u79ae\u7531\u9999\u6e2f\u674e\u5bf6\u693f\u806f\u5408\u4e16\u754c\u66f8\u9662\u6821\u9577Arnett Edwards\u535a\u58eb\u81f4\u6b61\u8fce\u8fad(\u4e0a\u5716)\u4e26\u7531\u570b\u969b\u6276\u8f2a\u793e3450\u5730\u5340\u7e3d\u76e3\u674e\u5fb7\u5229\u535a\u58eb(\u4e0b\u5716)\u81f4\u958b\u5e55\u8fad\u3002<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peace Camp 2023 was successfully held in April 2023 with 120 youth participants <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u7b2c\u4e09\u5c46\u548c\u5e73\u71df\u6703\u65bc2023\u5e744\u6708\u6210\u529f\u8209\u8fa6\u4e26\u6709\u591a\u9054120\u540d\u9752\u5c11\u5e74\u53c3\u52a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Peace Camp was attended by 120 students, including 113 students from 18 Interact Clubs and Rotary\u2019s network. For participating students, this was an opportunity to learn alongside peers from 20+ countries, interact with key opinion leaders, join student-led games & discussions, and perform in a unique diversity show. The two-day programme, created by students for students, emphasised dialogue and learning-by-doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u548c\u5e73\u71df\u6703\u6709 120 \u540d\u5b78\u751f\u53c3\u52a0\uff0c\u5176\u4e2d\u5305\u62ec\u4f86\u81ea 18 \u500b\u6276\u8f2a\u5c11\u5e74\u670d\u52d9\u5718\u53ca\u6276\u8f2a\u793e\u7db2\u7d61\u7684 113 \u540d\u4e2d\u5b78\u751f\u3002 \u548c\u5e73\u71df\u6703\u8b93\u5b78\u751f\u8207\u4f86\u81ea 20 \u591a\u500b\u570b\u5bb6\u53ca\u5730\u5340\u7684\u540c\u9f61\u670b\u53cb\u4e00\u8d77\u5b78\u7fd2\u3001\u8207\u4e0d\u540c\u754c\u5225\u4eba\u58eb\u4e92\u52d5\u3001\u53c3\u52a0\u5b78\u751f\u4e3b\u5c0e\u7684\u6d3b\u52d5\u53ca\u8a0e\u8ad6\u4e26\u5728\u7368\u7279\u7684\u7d9c\u85dd\u7bc0\u76ee\u4e2d\u8868\u6f14\u3002 \u4e00\u7cfb\u5217\u7531\u5b78\u751f\u7c4c\u5099\u53ca\u5e36\u9818\u7684\u6d3b\u52d5\u65e8\u5728\u4fc3\u9032\u4ea4\u6d41\u53ca\u5f9e\u5be6\u8e10\u4e2d\u5b78\u7fd2\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peace Camp\u2019s first panel sharing featured guests with different experiences and insights regarding marginalized or disadvantaged groups. Our guests were <\/em>Ms. Gigi Tsang (upper), Founder of My Little Coffee; Ms. Josephine Leung (middle), Executive Director at The HUB Children & Youth Centre (also Past President of Rotary Club of Kowloon North); and New Dellily (bottom), a YouTuber.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u7dca\u63a5\u958b\u5e55\u5178\u79ae\uff0c\u548c\u5e73\u71df\u6703\u9080\u8acb\u4e86\u4e0d\u540c\u80cc\u666f\u7684\u5609\u8cd3\u9032\u884c\u5c0f\u7d44\u8a0e\u8ad6\uff0c\u5206\u4eab\u5609\u8cd3\u6709My Little Coffee\u5275\u8fa6\u4eba\u66fe\u7a4e\u829d(\u4e0a)\u3001\u9999\u6e2f\u6a02\u7ae5\u884c\u884c\u653f\u7e3d\u76e3\u53ca\u4e5d\u9f8d\u5317\u5340\u6276\u8f2a\u793e\u524d\u793e\u9577\u6881\u6167\u84ee\u5c0f\u59d0(\u4e2d)\u53caYouTuber \u65b0\u5fb7\u8389\u8389(\u4e0b)\uff0c\u4e00\u8d77\u63a2\u8a0e\u8ca7\u7aae\u3001\u5f31\u52e2\u7fa4\u9ad4\u548c\u5c11\u6578\u65cf\u88d4\u7b49\u8b70\u984c\u3002<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the second panel sharing, we were joined by Ms. Devi Novianti (upper), Officer of Equal Opportunities Commission (Ethnic Minority Affairs Section) and Dr. Rizwan Ullah (lower), Vice Principal of Law Ting Pong Secondary School (also Board Member of Equal Opportunities Commission) to share reflections and advice on discrimination, prejudice and conflict resolution.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u548c\u5e73\u71df\u6703\u9080\u8acb\u4e86\u5609\u8cd3\u9032\u884c\u7b2c\u4e8c\u5834\u5c0f\u7d44\u8a0e\u8ad6\uff0c\u5206\u4eab\u5609\u8cd3\u6709\u5e73\u7b49\u6a5f\u6703\u59d4\u54e1\u6703\u4e3b\u4efb(\u5c11\u6578\u65cf\u88d4\u4e8b\u52d9\u7d44) Devi Novianti \u5c0f\u59d0(\u4e0a)\u53ca\u5e73\u7b49\u6a5f\u6703\u59d4\u54e1\u6703\u8463\u4e8b\u5c40\u6210\u54e1\u53ca\u7f85\u5b9a\u90a6\u4e2d\u5b78\u526f\u6821\u9577\u5229\u54f2\u5b8f\u535a\u58eb\uff08\u4e0b\uff09\uff0c\u4e00\u8d77\u63a2\u8a0e\u6709\u95dc\u6b67\u8996\u8207\u504f\u898b\u7684\u898b\u89e3\u548c\u89e3\u6c7a\u885d\u7a81\u7684\u5efa\u8b70\u3002<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also invited Peace Generation (https:\/\/peacegeneration.hk\/<\/a>) to conduct a workshop to explore the role, skills of application and importance of communication in achieving Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DEI).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u548c\u5e73\u71df\u6703\u9080\u8acb\u4e86\u548c\u5e73\u4e16\u4ee3(<\/em>https:\/\/peacegeneration.hk\/<\/em><\/a>) \u9032\u884c\u5de5\u4f5c\u574a\uff0c\u4ee5\u6d3b\u52d5\u5f62\u5f0f\u63a2\u8a0e\u6e9d\u901a\u5728\u9054\u81f3\u591a\u5143\u3001\u5e73\u7b49\u8207\u5305\u5bb9(DEI)\u4e2d\u7684\u89d2\u8272\u3001\u61c9\u7528\u6280\u5de7\u53ca\u91cd\u8981\u6027\u3002<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Peace Camp participants had the opportunity to appreciate cultures from around the world through dance. Each group learned a specific cultural dance and showcased their learning in the closing Diversity Show. These dances represented the cultures of China (upper left), Europe (upper right), Africa (bottom left) and North America (bottom right).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u71df\u6703\u53c3\u52a0\u8005\u900f\u904e\u5b78\u7fd2\u821e\u8e48\u8a8d\u8b58\u4e26\u6b23\u8cde\u5404\u5730\u7684\u6587\u5316\u3002\u5404\u5c0f\u7d44\u65bc\u9589\u5e55\u5178\u79ae\u7684\u7d9c\u85dd\u7bc0\u76ee\u4e2d\u5c55\u793a\u4ed6\u5011\u5b78\u7fd2\u7684\u6210\u679c\uff0c\u5305\u62ec\u4f86\u81ea\u4e2d\u570b(\u5de6\u4e0a)\u3001\u6b50\u6d32(\u53f3\u4e0a)\u3001\u975e\u6d32(\u5de6\u4e0b)\u53ca\u5317\u7f8e(\u53f3\u4e0b)\u7684\u821e\u8e48\u3002<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          The Rotary Club of New Territories (RCNT) is committed to fostering international understanding, goodwill, and peace by establishing friendships between nations and states through connecting individuals from diverse disciplines and professions who are dedicated to serving the community. Since its establishment, the Rotary Club of New Territories has been devoted to providing exchange and volunteer opportunities to teenagers, helping them establish positive character and leadership skills, as well as learning to respect others and to broaden their international perspectives. A total of 20 students from South Tuen Mun Government Secondary School were honored to receive sponsorship from the Rotary Club of New Territories to attend the peace camp organized by the Rotary International District 3450 and Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong on April 1st and 2nd, 2023. STMGSS Principal CHIN Yiu-ming also joined the peace camp. Through interacting with leaders and professionals from diverse sectors, communicating with teenagers from all over the world, and participating in interactive games, cultural performances, and workshops, participants mastered concepts of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), and learned to respect and appreciate others while getting along with individuals from diverse backgrounds. As the pandemic situation was improving, a face-to-face peace camp program became possible again. Participants joined student-led simulations and discussions and had the chance to perform in a unique diversity show and experience cultural exchange and fusion. Participants expressed that the peace camp helped them nurture a global perspective and understand different cultures, providing them with a rich learning environment to use English and opportunities to make friends around the world. STMGSS participants expressed their gratitude to the Rotary Club of New Territories for its support and the unforgettable experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          2023 Rotary LPCUWC\u2019s PEACE CAMP<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Rotary International District 3450 and LPCUWC co-organized the third peace camp on 1-2 April 2023, of which the theme is Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). Being sponsored to participate in this event, our students gained an opportunity for communicating with participants and facilitators from different backgrounds. Through engaging in cultural exchange activities, participants learnt to see the value in difference as well as cementing the acceptance of cultural diversity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Having heard the speakers’ sharing, we were flat-out inspired. For instance, for the sharing on the first day of the peace camp, the speakers shared their experiences with discrimination and what they were doing to cope with discrimination. Consequently, we realized that it was vital to bear in mind that everyone is equal. In addition, after the sharing, we believed that everyone could also help those being discriminated against. Undoubtedly, we are now enthusiastic to contribute to making a more peaceful world in which equality is achieved to a large extent.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Speaking of the most impressive activities, we immediately think of dancing with facilitators and students from different countries like Korea, Africa, and others. Many of us are not good at dancing, let alone traditional dances. However, it was encouraging that everyone was told to just enjoy themselves. As a result, we collected unique memories from it. Taking African dance as an example, we trained so hard to learn the dance even though it was only a three-minute performance. The moments we spent with friends and facilitators definitely carried much happiness and cultural significance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
