RI President Jennifer Jones wants members to imagine the possibilities in the change they can make to transform the world. Indeed, with Rotarians’ joint effort and donation, we can make a change beyond our imagination.
In D3450, one of the important goals of our District Governor Norman Lee is to implement more Global Grant and District Grant service projects in our District this Rotary Year, aiming to show our Rotarians and citizens of our communities what Rotary does to achieve peace, to develop our youth and to change life.
District Rotary Foundation Committee, which serves as the bridge between The Rotary Foundation and our District, facilitates our Rotarians and Rotaractors to imagine Rotary and do good in our community and the world.
Headed by PDG Belinda Yeung and with 4 PDGs as advisors, District Rotary Foundation Committee is comprised of 6 sub-committees taking care of “Finance”, “Global Grant”, “District Grant”, “Stewardship”, “Fund Raising”, TRF Program” and “Resources, Training & Promotion”.
COVID-19 might have affected us physically interacting with international Rotary partners, but this has not deterred our determination in transforming Rotarians’ gifts into service projects which save lives both locally and globally. We continue to respond to different communities given their unique needs and concerns through The Rotary Foundation. We shall further diversify our efforts to address some critical and widespread humanitarian needs globally to maximize the impact. To achieve this, we need Rotarians’ continued support and donate to The Rotary Foundation.
According to PP Betty Ko, Vice-Chair of our Global Grant sub-committee, D3450 Clubs have participated in 25 Global Grant service projects with beneficiaries all over the world in 2021 – 22.
Facing the uncertain and ever-changing global environment, D3450 Clubs are encouraged to participate in more Global Grant service projects to make our world a better place to live.
By all means, we have not forgotten to improve our local community. Vice-Chair of our District Grant sub-committee PP Synthia Chan disclosed that 52 District Grant service projects have been implemented in 2021 – 22.
To ensure our District has sufficient fund to support both the Global and District Grant service projects, D3450 Rotarians have extended an excellent support to The Rotary Foundation through generous contribution. Reflected by Vice-Chair of our Fund Raising sub-committee PP Grace Yen, a total contribution of over USD1.12M has been made in 2020 – 21.
Thanks for your continual contributions to The Rotary Foundation because your donation has made it possible for Rotary International to implement Humanitarian Service Projects, both locally and internationally, to Do Good In The World.
Yes, we always encourage Rotarians to donate, we also encourage Rotarians to work on more TRF humanitarian service projects to do good in the world including our own communities.
