Number of Beneficiaries:
All patients with urology and kidney disease (approx.3000 per year), which increases by 30% every year. Accordingly,1,552 surgeries were performed in 10 months after the donation of the equipment.

Project Description:
Kidney stone, urinal stone and bladder stone are one of the leading diseases in Mongolia. Our project has achieved the followings:
• Upgrade the equipment to the standard of developed countries
• Patients no longer need to travel abroad for laser surgery
• Shorten the patient’s waiting time
• Decrease work load through simplification of operation process
• Enhance the quality of patient care by initiating new technology
• Reduce the length of hospital stay
• Improve the economic efficiency of the operation
A highly positive audit, which was conducted by The Rotary Foundation, has recommended that the donated equipment is useful for prostate laser surgery in the future. Being a medical specialist, the auditor has also participated in the surgery with doctors of the urology centre to witness the application of the donated equipment.
