Project Description:
Through this grant project, we have established a center for preventing metabolic syndrome in the General hospital for state special servants (GHSSS) (Metabolic Screening Center) and furnished it with furniture, testing equipment and IT system for automatic health evaluation/reporting.
Aimed to improve the capacity of GHSSS for its local health care services, we have put our focus on:
– Screening of metabolic syndrome risk groups, as well as early detection and prevention of non-communicable diseases.
– Enhancing the health infrastructure of local communities and special public servants.
Metabolic Screening Center shall provide monitoring, examination and consultation service for 250 persons per day or 66,000 persons annually. It took 5 months to establish the center. When the project was completed on 30 November 2018, 38,500 people have been benefited from it. Through the regular operation of the center, it is estimated that 330,000 persons will be benefited from the project within 5 years. Among them, 70% are special public servants, 20% are their family members and 10% are residents of Chingeltei district. With the running cost covered by the government, continuous operation of the center and provision of regular monitoring (3-4 times within 5 years) to public servants is guaranteed.
